Sunny is my nickname that started when a very young Caitlin looked up at me one day and said, “Grandma Sonia, it takes way too long to say Grandma Sonia; every time I have to say Grandma Sonia it takes too much time. Could I please call you Sunny because you are always happy and bright like the sun?” My answer to that dear request was of course, yes.  Most everyone now calls me Sunny and I love it.  

 Volume II, Positively Sunny, begins right after my birth on April 2, 1940 and the start of World War II. Our little family made the laid-up Danish ship, Sessa, our home for a year and a half. 

 My life was Blessed with another very special person. My husband of 61 years, Charles Robert (Bobby) Fedak, made a difference in his walk through life not only with me, but with his daughters, grandchildren and so many he encountered. He handled his challenges with a trust and faith in God that was inspiring. There was a little boy inside him that was always ready to play with not only his grandchildren but lots of young friends. His mission was to make everyone laugh, feel welcome and included. 

 Positively Sunny continues to preserve for our daughters and grandchildren the fiber of those who walked before them. You can tell what makes Bobby and Sunny happy — because the largest section of this volume is titled Grandparenting. 

 My story is anything but ordinary. It’s unbelievable at times, but full of adventure and surprises. Our love story is a beautiful romance that was beyond special in every way. We are Blessed with amazing daughters and grandchildren who are also our best friends.
