ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Kevin Mullen was "born and raised" in San Francisco where he attended local Parochial schools. After military service (82nd Airborne Division), he joined the San Francisco Police Department in 1959. He served for 26 years in almost all ranks and divisions, retiring in 1986 from the position of deputy chief. Since then he has researched and written about the San Francisco criminal justice system, past and present. He now resides in Marin County with his wife, Jeannie.
